General Information
Every Child has an individual ‘Learning Journal’ created by their Key Person where their development and progress is tracked and monitored. Learning Journals are available for parents/guardians to view at any time and is something that we encourage. We promote positive partnership working with our parents and work together to meet the needs of each individual child. Our younger children in the nursery receive a daily communication diary which is an excellent way to communicate between the early years practitioners and parents on important aspects such as nappy changes, how much food they have eaten and what they have done throughout the day.
Developing children’s independence through allowing children to choose what and where they would like to play is highly encouraged. This helps promote self-learning. This is supported with specific planning on the areas of learning as formed in the EYFS (2012). Adult focused activities and the continuous developmental provisions are planned in advance in order to meet the children’s development needs and next steps, allowing planning to keep in theme with the children’s own specific interests and enabling children to enjoy the learning experience.
Each room has Arts and Crafts resources for children to explore and use as they wish, alongside access to sand and water play within each room.
All of our staff have been trained in Paediatric First Aid and have attended all relevant safeguarding training. We support and promote staff member’s Continual professional development to provide the best care and teaching for your children.
We have a resident cook who prepares fresh and healthy meals and snacks daily. Our cook works to provide a well-balanced and healthy diet. The kitchen has a 5* hygiene rating and we will cater for all dietary requirements.
All rooms are able to take advantage of the outdoor area, transferring indoor learning to outside. Weather permitting, snacks and meal times are sometimes enjoyed outside.
